Brigham Young University is closing its campus and canceling classes between noon and 2 p.m. Friday to allow students and faculty to attend the funeral of former President Rex E. Lee.

Lee died Monday in the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.His funeral is scheduled to begin at noon Friday in the Provo Tabernacle. Viewings are planned Thursday between 7-9 in the Oak Hills Stake Center, 965 E. North Temple Drive, in Provo, and Friday from 9:30 to 11 a.m., also at the stake center.

Students are invited to view the proceedings by closed-circuit television in the Wilkinson Center Ballroom; the de Jong Concert Hall; in Room 151 in the N. Eldon Tanner building; and in three classrooms in the J. Reuben Clark Law building, Rooms 303, 205 and 306.
