So Market Opinion Research of Farmington Hills, Mich., polled Republicans and Democrats to find the "sure-fire recipe" for irritating fellow motorists.The No. 1 gripe: Women who apply their makeup while motoring to work?

Nope.

Men who shave on the way to the office?

Uh-uh.

Drunks or those swigging booze or beer while passing you?

Surprisingly near the bottom of the list of motorists' pet peeves.

The No. 1 grievance was drivers who cut you off, cited as the top gripe by 20 percent of motorists polled.

Others on the list were:

- Driver's who don't use their turn signals (16 percent).

- Drivers who tailgate (15 percent).

- Driving too slow in the fast lane (13 percent).

- Driving too fast (5 percent).

- Using a cellular phone (3 percent).

- Discourteous drivers (3 percent).

- Running red lights (3 percent).

- Changing lanes too often (2 percent).

- Reckless drivers (1 percent).

- Drivers who don't dim their bright headlights (1 percent).

- Drivers who stop for no reason (1 percent).

- Drivers who blow their horn (1 percent).

- Drivers who drink (1 percent).

- Drivers who fail to merge (1 percent).
