After Pat Buchanan won primary and caucus victories in Alaska, Louisiana and New Hampshire, the establishment insiders of the Republican Party and others decided he must be stopped. Almost immediately, a chorus of lies and distortions about his positions on trade and tariffs began. Not once have I heard his opponents accurately state what he is saying. They all seem to be reading from the same script.

Then, suddenly, a host of others began to tell the American people that Buchanan, a respected public figure for more than 25 years, was a racist, a Nazi sympathizer and an anti-Semite, and these horrible, dark revelations were dutifully spread throughout the country with the press and the major networks as willing accomplices.Does it surprise anyone that Buchanan began to lose in the primaries? When voters were asked by pollsters why they didn't vote for Buchanan, they almost all replied that he seemed "too extreme." Apparently the voters in Alaska, Louisiana and New Hampshire did not think he was too extreme. Perhaps those voters are out of touch with the rest of the voters in the country. Or, perhaps the shameless lies and distortions about this good and honorable man had their effect.

The attack against Buchanan does not reveal as much about Buchanan as it does about those who launched it and gave it their voice.

We are losing the sovereignty of the United States. Everything the founders of this country fought, sacrificed and died for is under attack. Buchanan is the only major candidate addressing this crisis head-on.
