The Murray City Council voted Tuesday to square up its boundaries and annex a 10-acre parcel between 6230 and 6444 South at 900 East.
After residents fell short of their attempt to protest the proposed low-density residential zoning for the parcel, the council agreed to maintain the county land's agricultural zone.Murray has serviced the area with water and power for a number of years. The city shared police and fire protection costs with Salt Lake County.
Also, two parcels of property between 6285 and 6295 South at 725 East were annexed. Assistant City Attorney Randy Hart said the bit of unincorporated county land had been overlooked for annexation into the city before.
