Salt Lake City and the Memory Grove Foundation want to locate relatives of the approximately 300 missing in action servicemen honored on headstones in Memory Grove.
The headstones, which were erected at Meditation Chapel to honor missing-in-action native Utahns in the Army Air Corps, Air Force, Navy and Marines, are scheduled to be relocated as a part of a massive restoration of Memory Grove. The city and Memory Grove want to contact next of kin to join in the restoration of the park and the other war memorials, including the Meditation Chapel Area, by becoming members of the foundation and assisting with the adoption and cleanup of the area on May 18 as part of "Take Pride in Utah Day."
Those wishing to participate may contact the Memory Grove Foundation by calling Brad Baxter at 801-535-7787.
