Zella Blair Roskelley Buttars, 87, passed away at her home in Murray, of congestive heart failure on March 14, 1996.
Zella was born May 15, 1908 in Lewiston, Utah, to Ephraim Isaac Blair and Estella La Nora Glover Blair. She attended schools in Lewiston and North Cache High School in Richmond, Utah. Zella married Milton Roskelley, Sr., September 25, 1925 in the Logan Temple, Logan, Utah. Milton died December 21, 1940 in Logan after being struck by a car, in the fog, near Hyde Park. She then married Vurel L. Buttars, August 5, 1946 in Ely, Nevada; later divorced. During her married life she lived in Lewiston, Trenton and Salt Lake City, Utah. She also lived in Los Angeles, California for a short time. As a young wife and mother she worked in farming, mostly in Lewiston. She also worked for the Del Monte Canning Co. in Franklin, Idaho in the processing of peas and beans. When she moved to Salt Lake City in 1948, she worked for Mode O' Day in clothing manufacturing for a few years and then worked for Sears Roebuck & Co. in drapery manufacturing until retirement. After retirement she enjoyed bowling and walking with friends.She is survived by sons and daughter, David R. Roskelley, Salt Lake City, Utah; Winona (Keith) Roskelley Fisher Anderson, Jerome, Idaho; Wayne B. (Clydean) Roskelley, North Ogden, Utah; Milton (Carol) Roskelley, Jr., Tucson, Ariz.; Darwin V. (Georgian) Buttars, Roy, Utah. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by husband, Milton, both parents, brother, Chester L. Blair, daughter, Cheryl Roskelley Symes Davey, grandson, Robert W. Roskelley.
Funeral service will be Monday, March 18, 1996, 10 a.m., Larkin Mortuary Chapel, 260 East South Temple, with a viewing Sunday evening 5 - 7 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the mortuary. Burial will be in the Lewiston City Cemetery (Cache County) following the services.
