Margaret Anna Kormann Burger, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away late Tuesday, March 12, 1996, in Salt Lake City of complications due to pancreatic cancer.
Margaret was born June 5, 1931 in Nuernberg, Bavaria, Germany, the third child of Ernst Baptist Kormann and Maria Magdalena Baier. Her childhood was spent in Germany during World War II. She was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 27, 1946 and continued as an active member the remainder of her life. Margaret and her husband, George Burger, were married May 21, 1954 by Nuernberg city officials and on May 22, 1954 by the Nuernberg Branch District president of the LDS Church. In 1955, they immigrated to the United States of America, where they settled in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was solemnized March 16, 1956 in the Salt Lake Temple.Margaret is survived by her husband, George; three children, Stephen George (Carla); Peggy Ann (Michael Provard), and John George; four grandchildren, Tiffani Marie, Stephani Anne, Joseph Stephen, and Kenneth Michael.
She was a kind and loving soul and will be missed by all those whose lives she has touched.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 18, 1996, at 2 p.m. at Mtn. View Mortuary Chapel, 3115 East 7800 South, where friends may call Sunday, 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services Monday. Interment, Mtn. View Memorial Estates.
