Dennis Lee Cavanee returned to his Heavenly Father on March 16, 1996 following a year-long battle with brain cancer.

Dennis was born December 28, 1942 to Dennis Edward and LaUna Bowers Cavanee. He grew up in Hunter and graduated from Cyprus High and attended the University of Utah. He married Linda Ann Thibodeaux on April 1, 1966. They later divorced. He married Vickie Boman Mosser on June 25, 1988, who survives him. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as an aircraft electrician in the U.S. Navy. He worked 19 years at Kennecott Copper. He worked at Hill Air Force Base as an industrial mechanic.He was most at home in the out-of-doors. He loved hunting, fishing, tying flies and exchanging fishing stories with his friends. He spent many happy hours snowmobiling with his family and friends.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Vickie; two sons, Tim Cavanee, Long Beach, Calif.; Chad Cavanee, South Jordan; stepdaughter, Amber Mosser, Layton; stepson, Adam Mosser, Roy; one sister, Joyce (Dave) Sessions, Bellevue, Neb.; one brother, Jack (Connie) Cavanee, West Valley; father and mother-in-law, Asel and Dora Boman, Layton; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, stepfather, Russ Clifton and infant son, Dennis Cavanee.

"I pray that I may live to fish until my dying day. And when it comes to my last cast, I then most humbly pray...When in the Lord's great landing net and peacefully asleep...That in His mercy I be judged big enough to keep.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 22, 1996 at Hunter 1st Ward, 3930 So. 6000 West, West Valley, Utah with Bishop Darris Chivers officiating. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1074 N. Fairfield Rd. and Friday 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment at Valley View Memorial Park, 4391 West 4100 So., West Valley.
