Shirley McIntosh Newbold, 65, devoted wife, loving mother, and sweet grandmother, passed away April 29, 1996.

She was born July 17, 1930, in Richfield, Utah to Daniel H. and Blanche Christensen McIntosh.She was raised in Salt Lake City. Graduated from South High School. Married Melvin J. Newbold on June 4, 1948 in the Salt Lake Temple. She was active in the LDS Church, served a lifetime in Relief Society and Primary presidencies. One who loved all God's children and served them very well. Was active in Cub Scouts for many years. All five of her sons are Eagle Scouts. She served a mission with her husband in the South Carolina Mission and was a Salt Lake Temple ordinance worker.

Survived by her husband, Melvin; five sons: Rodger (Dawn), Dan (Pam), Darrell (Jean), Scott (Jeri), and Jay (Melanie); 16 grandchildren whom she dearly loved; three sisters, Jeannine Green, Myrna Gaisford and Sharon (Ray) Ebner.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Thursday, May 2, 1996 at the Grandview Ward Chapel, 2930 South 2000 East. Friends may call at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive, on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and at the ward on Thursday from 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Elysian Burial Gardens.
