MICHAEL JACKSON, FAMILY RUN INTO LEGAL SETBACKS

Michael Jackson and his family have suffered a pair of setbacks in a legal dispute that arose from the "Jackson Family Honors" show.

A Los Angeles judge on Tuesday ordered Jackson Communications Inc. to pay $1.6 million to a company that says it lost money because Jackson failed to perform as promised at the 1994 show. The pop star did not perform solo but did sing with other family members.U.S. District Judge Laughlin Waters also threw out a Jackson family counterclaim, saying it should have been filed first in an identical state court case.
