Posting its fifth win in a row with a 2-0 shutout over Ogden Tuesday, it would be hard to tell that the Bobcats actually fell hard early in the season with three shootout losses.
Sky View's blanking of the third-ranked Tigers came just days after handing another ranked region foe, Bear River, a 3-0 setback."We kind of feel like no one really beat us on the field this year," said Sky View coach Doyle Geddes. "We felt this would be the biggest test of our progress over the last few weeks."
Goalkeeper David Burris stopped all Ogden shots to lift Sky View to 7-3 in region. The Tigers fell to 5-2.
Both Bobcat goals came in the second half. Jared Marx connected from a direct kick 17 minutes into the half. He then assisted Jason Jorgensen on their second goal with 13 minutes left.

Bountiful 4, Davis 3: The Braves edged the Darts with Scott Mitchell's late score. Robby Eastman, Matt Smith and Chuck Miller each contributed with one goal.
Skyline 3, Cottonwood 1: Austin Binks, Brad Reavy and Alan Bengtzen helped crack down the Colts by scoring goals for the Eagles.
Viewmont 3, Highland 1: The Rams got clipped by No. 2 Vikings with Davey Lund and Tim Nicholls scoring to break a 1-1 tie.
Bingham 2, Hunter 0: Brian Hessing and Trent Perry paired up to each score and John Brinton was the goalie with a shutout.
Kearns 1, Granger 0: Down one player to the Lancers, the Cougars fought back as James Kunz fired a bicycle kick into the goal. Taylorsville 3, Copper Hills 1: Brian Cox, Mickel Sharp and Dave Mendenhall scored for Warriors.
Ben Lomond 1, Logan 0 : The Scots went on to end a seven-game losing skid when Ryan Robinson connected in the in first overtime.
Mountain Crest 2, Box Elder 0: The Bees fell to the Mustangs after goals from Ryan Dorigatti and Mark Weston.
Cyprus 3, Granite 0: Tony Hull scored twice and Brady Johnson once as the Pirates climbed into a 4-3 region record. Goalie Josh Nye busted up the Granite offense for a shutout.
Olympus 5, Murray 4 : Oly survived a threat from the Spartans with a game winning goal from Spencer Chipping. Joe Salinbury, Bronson Oeser and Uche Unwegbu added goals for the Titans (6-1).
East 1, Tooele 0: Jeff Norman kicked the Leopards into winning shape with a first half goal that put down the Buffs. Dan Lear got the goalie shutout for 3-4 East.
Woods Cross 2, West 1 : BJ Brewer hit a first half goal before West tied it with minutes left in the game. After 12 kicks each in the shootout, Pat Young fired the game-winner.
Provo 2, Springville 1: Steve Thompson and Jon Abegglen rallied for Provo (7-2). Springville's scorer was Jordan Marchbanks. Spanish Fork 1, Payson 0 : Paul Frandsen fired the game's only goal in the second overtime for the 3-5 Dons.
Timpview 4, Pleasant Grove 1: Tyler Kearl, Ethan Ross, Weston Hafen and Aaron Ross scored as the Thunderbirds blasted the Vikes. Jeff Dastrup scored for P.G.
Cedar City 2, Snow Canyon 1 : Rob Bowman (Redmen) and Justin Ewell (Warriors) scored goals in regulation.
Delta 5, Pine View 2 : The host Rabbits prevailed by reeling off three timely goals.
