The city's ninth annual Cinco de Mayo celebration will be held Saturday, May 4, at the Midvale City Park and along Main Street.
Organizers expect as many as 5,000 people to attend the event, which will begin at 9 a.m. on Main Street with the crowning of Miss Cinco de Mayo. Mariachi bands, singers and dancers will entertain. Food and craft booths, rides and games also will be featured.The Cinco de Mayo parade will begin at 12:30 p.m. at Alexander Dahl Stadium. The parade will follow Main Street south to Center Street, turn east to Chapel Street, then follow Chapel north to the park at Second Avenue.
A softball tournament will begin at 1 p.m.
