The BYU women's golf team failed to advance to the NCAA finals by placing 14th Saturday at the West Regional in Omaha, Neb.
The Cougars' 967 total for the three rounds missed the cut by seven shots.Arizona won with a 900, followed by San Jose State at 905, Tulsa and UCLA at 906 and Arizona State with 909. The individual winner was Maria Baena of Arizona with a score of 215. BYU coach Gary Howard said his team picked up some ground but not enough to advance.
Ai Lian Lim had a final-round 78 and tied for 32nd but failed to make the cut as an individual with a 235 total.
Other Cougar scores were as follows: Susanne Gillemo, 239; Stephanie Belnap, 248; Catalina Navarro, 251; and Jamie Stevenson, 256.
