DEATH: JEFFREY CHRIS ANAST

Jeffrey Chris Anast, age 40, our beloved father, son and brother, passed away May 11, 1996, from complications of renal failure. He was born March 5, 1956, in Granger, Utah, to Chris and Betty Skinner Anast.

Jeff graduated from Granger High School in 1975. Married Jolene Peck; later divorced. He was a master salesman and worked for the Phillip Morris Corporation for many years.As an advanced musician and guitarist, he brought great happiness to his family and friends. Nothing in the world meant more to Jeff than his children, Gregory, Valarie and Whitney. His love for them made his long illness bearable.

Jeff was a member of the Eastern Orthodox Church.

He is survived by his children, West Jordan; father, Chris Anast, West Valley City; brothers, George (Joyce), West Valley City, and Jon (Janel), Price; seven nieces and nephews; Godmother Helen Pappas; very special friends Paul and Peanut Sawaya and their three loving daughters; Dave and Pam Peck; and Verna Stoddard. Jeff is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Anast, grandfather, George Anast, and grandmother, Lorraine Anast.

It is impossible to thank all of those who contributed to Jeff's medical care, but special gratitude is extended to the administration and personnel at the South Valley Care Center and to all doctors and nurses of ICU and 3 North at the U of U Medical Center. Thanks also to Dr. Kablitz and Dialysis Center technicians at the U of U, Midvale and Price.

Jeff, our father, son, brother and friend, to you we owe our respect and thanks. Your inner light guided us through your suffering even though it was you who endured the greatest pain. Now you are free to see, hear, and sing again. You are free to see the light that you carried within you, free to hear the voices of your children, and free to sing the song of love and hope you taught to all of us.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 15, 12 noon, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 279 South 300 West, Salt Lake City. Prayer service will be held Tuesday, May 14, 7:30 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, where friends may call Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday, 10:30-11:15 a.m. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
