Joseph Van Doren Doherty, 63, our loved husband, father and brother, died peacefully with his family at his side, May 12, 1996.

Born July 20, 1932 in Rexburg, Idaho to John Henry Doherty and Mary Van Doren Doherty. Married Marilyn Woodward in 1971. Joe graduated from Madison High School in 1950 and Utah State University in 1959. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. Joe worked for the Electrolux Corporation for 31 years and for the Community Action Program for the last five years. Joe's greatest love and pride was his family. He will be remembered as a man of integrity, compassion, and a quiet sense of humor.He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; a son, Christopher John; daughter, Catherine; brother, John H. (Freda) Doherty; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services May 16, 11 a.m. in the Bountiful 25th Ward, 1500 South 600 East. Friends may call at the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Wednesday evening 6-8 p.m. and 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment, Holladay Memorial Park, 4900 South Memorial Lane (1990 East), Salt Lake City.
