E. L. "Roy" Puffer, 90, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, friend and "Bop Grape", died peacefully May 11, 1996 of Parkinson's Disease in Salt Lake City.

Roy was born September 5, 1906 in Beaver, Utah to Ephraim Orval and Adeline Myria Bohn Puffer. He married Berdetta Thorpe in 1929; later divorced. Married Mildred Weeks, deceased. Married Wanda Stoney Murdock, August 31, 1952. She preceded him in death on October 16, 1994.In his early years he worked at the creamery in Beaver, Utah and also owned a trucking business. He served in the Beaver National Guard. He was a captain in the U.S. Army serving in World War II and Korean Conflict. After retiring, he owned and operated Puffer Insurance Agency in Tooele, Utah. He was a great gardener and liked to grow vegetables, fruit trees and especially flowers.

He is survived by his children, Paul and Carma Puffer, Oregon; Clark and Marilyn Puffer, Logan, Utah; stepchildren, Donald and Colleen Murdock, Cedar City; Carma and Art Claerhout, Salt Lake City; son-in-law, Ben and Patricia Messer, West Jordan; numerous grand-, great- and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kim Puffer and stepdaughter, Lela Rae Messer; brothers, Stanley, Jasper and Percy, sisters, Netti, Pearl and Cora.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 1996 at 1 p.m. in the Olpin Mortuary Chapel. Friends may pay their respects from 12 to 12:45 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery in Beaver under the direction of Olpin Mortuary.
