The Provo Education Foundation is asking every Provo resident to pledge time or money to help students, teachers and parents improve educational opportunities in the city's schools.

During a program Thursday outside the new Centennial Middle School, three sky divers from Cedar Valley's Skydive University dropped in on scores of students, business owners and civic leaders to deliver the first of 27,000 pledge sheets that will be taken to Provo homes. The pledge sheets will be picked up in a week, and donations will be collected by August. Donations of time and money are used for learning, reading and mentoring programs conducted before and after school in the Provo School District.

The Provo Education Foundation is a private, nonprofit organization that sponsors Provo Partners in Education, a partnership between businesses and schools.
