An Iowa man was killed when his motor home was clipped by a semitrailer truck Monday morning.
Killed was:Wayne K. Pixler, 24, Harlan, Iowa
Pixler and his family were traveling south on I-15 near Cedar City about 9 p.m. Monday. A semitrailer truck driven by Kerry Ardrey, Elbert, Colo., attempted to pass the mobile home which was towing a Volkswagon car.
The truck attempted to pass the motor home and clipped its back end, said trooper Chuck Collings in a press release. The impact of the crash forced the motor home off the road and to roll at least once.
Pixler's wife and two daughters were inside the motor home and none was wearing seat belts. All were ejected, but all except Pixler suffered only minor injuries.
Pixler was taken to Valley View Medical Center in Cedar City where he underwent emergency surgery. He died about 7:25 p.m. Monday.
Ardrey was wearing a seat belt and was not injured in the accident. Officials are still investigating the crash.
