Beverly Jean Boardman Hansen passed away May 11, 1996 in Salt Lake City at the age of 68.
She was born in Provo, Utah, to John W. and Josie Cluff Boardman on August 20, 1927. She married David J. Taft; later divorced. She married Thomas F. Hansen April 5, 1965; marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.She is survived by her husband, children, David D. Taft, Karen J. Taft of Cloverdale, Calif.; Steven (Kandice Dickinson) Taft, Mill Valley, Calif.; Shauna (Roger) Lassig, Paul R. Hansen and Mark R. Hansen, and grandchildren, Stephanie and Joshua Taft-Bekman, Kurt Thomas Lassig and Zakary Manfred Lassig, and by her special family, Jain Sibert of Cloverdale, Calif.; Meredith Moench and her children, Amberley, Joshua and Benjamin Gregg. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Darwin and Frank Boardman; granddaughter, Anna Josie Lassig.
She was a member of the LDS Church and had served in several ward positions. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Princess Timpanogos Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the American Colonists, and the Colonial Dames of the Seventeenth Century, and had served as Regent of the last three organizations. She also served on the board of the Utah State Society NSDAR. She enjoyed volunteer work at the Veterans Administration Medical Center. In August of 1987 she received a heart transplant at the LDS Hospital, and was daily grateful for the joy and wonder of the extended years this gave her. She never ceased to appreciate the dedication and support of the Heart Transplant Team. These special years were filled with the love and warmth of her husband and family.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 18, 1996, 12 Noon, at the Larkin Mortuary Chapel, 260 East So. Temple, where friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to services. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery.
