Ardis (Butt) Hewitt, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, 72, passed away May 18, 1996.

Born September 17, 1923, in Roberts, Idaho, the daughter of Lavelle and Bessie V. Proctor Butt. Ardis grew up in Marriott, Utah. She married Loyd A. Hewitt on December 24, 1942.Ardis loved music. She was a long time member of the Schubert Singers. As a Gifted soprano, she sang on many occasions including the Salt Lake and Ogden Tabernacle choirs and on radio. She served for many years in the Relief Society.

Survived by her husband, Loyd A. Hewitt, three sons; Larry A. (Sherren), Menlo Park, California, Ardin B. (Marilyn), Roseville, Ohio. Brian L.(Lucinda), Minnetrista, Minnesota, three brothers, LaVell P. Butt, Dennis U. Butt, and Dwight D. Butt, one sister, Dian Taylor; 13 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents and sister, Vernell Sessions.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 18, 1996, 2:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 South 1700 East, Sandy, where friends may call Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, one hour prior to the services.

Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
