DEATH: DORA L. SIMPSON

Dora Jane Lafon Simpson, loving mother and grandmother, died Tuesday, May 14, 1996, at her home in Roy at the age of 62, due to complications from chronic lymptodcytic leukemia.

She was born May 19, 1933 in Ogden, the daughter of James M. and Ruby L. Lafon. She graduated from Ogden High School, Valedictorian in 1951. On June 30, 1951, she married Keith H. Simpson in Ogden. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on December 2, 1962.She was an active member of the LDS Church and highly noted for her ability to teach. The greatest honor to her was to be a mother. Her 11 children can testify of her dedication and love, both as a mother and grandmother.

Surviving are her 11 children, LaFon (Steven) Allen, Kaysville; Carrie (Kurt)Holbrook, Scottsdale, Ariz.; Floyd J. (Cindy) Simpson, San Bernardino, Calif.; Theron K. (Marci) Simpson, Farmington; Lane H. (Colleen) Simpson, North Salt Lake; Becky Simpson, Salt Lake City; Doriann (Chris) Bowman, Roy; Linda (David) Stark, Portland, Oregon; Scott R. Simpson, Roy; Kris L. Simpson, North Salt Lake; Jeffrey L. Simpson, Roy; and 22 grandchildren; also surviving are her brother, Dee Jay (Pete) Lafon, Norman, Okla.; and her sister, Elizabeth L. Taylor, Sunset. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Keith H. Simpson; and her brother, Val L. Lafon.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 17, at 11 a.m. at Leavitt's Chapel of Flowers Mortuary, 836-36th Street, with Bishop Samuel Ramsay officiating. Friends may call at the mortuary Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday, one hour prior to services. Interment, Leavitt's Aultorest Memorial Park.
