Novell Inc. has adopted a per-user pricing system for its GroupWise messaging software.
The new price model will make it easier to buy, sell and design GroupWise solutions, the company said. With the per-user pricing model, organizations will simply total the number of users on the system and purchase the corresponding number of mailbox licenses. The system will save companies lots of money, Novell said. For example, under the old price structure, a small business with 25 users that wanted to purchase a GroupWise system with an NLM message server would have spent $10,639. With the new per-user model, the same business will now spend only $3,840.
The new price structure takes effect June 1.
