RIVER RAFTERS TREATED FOR HYPOTHERMIA

Several rafters were treated for differing stages of hypothermia Friday night after their craft overturned in the frigid waters of Provo River about 20 miles east of Park City.

A Summit County sheriff's dispatcher said the six-member crew "somehow tipped over their raft," which resulted in four of the six boaters being taken to hospitals for hypothermia.Identities of the victims were not immediately available.

Three of the boaters were released, the dispatcher said, but one woman was airlifted by helicopter to University Hospital after Summit County search and rescue teams located the group.

A witness to the accident said the group appeared to be ill-prepared for the river-rafting trip.
