Four people were injured - two critically - in a Thursday morning rush-hour traffic accident near the I-15 on-ramp.
Three women driving in a Dodge sedan were headed to Provo for BYU's Women's Conference when they collided with a pickup truck about 7:45 a.m. as they attempted to make a left-hand turn onto the freeway near 250 West and 12300 South. Two of the victims, whose identities were not immediately available, were taken to Alta View Hospital in critical condition, Salt Lake County Sheriff's Lt. Ed Colbert said.
The other woman, the driver, was in fair condition at the scene, Colbert said. The driver of the pickup truck was also taken to Alta View.
Colbert said the accident bogged down the morning commute "considerably."
Citations are pending and an investigation is continuing.
