Della Palmer Workman, 87, died peacefully at 6:00 a.m. on May 1, 1996.

She was born April 29, 1909 in South Jordan, Utah to Joseph Fred and Birdie Beckstead Palmer. She married Joseph A. Workman in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on September 12, 1934. Della has served all of her life in various positions in the LDS Church including Relief Society Presidency and teacher in the Primary, Young Women and Sunday School. She has provided music in the Church for 78 years, beginning at age nine in the Primary; most of those years were spent as ward organist. She also served as an ordinance worker in the Salt Lake and Jordan River LDS Temples as well as temple organist. Della's life was an example of love and devotion to her husband, children and church.She is survived by her husband, Joseph A. Workman, South Jordan; children, Lee (Carol), Rexburg, Idaho; Shauna Kidman (Richard), Page, Ariz.; Rex (Sandy), South Jordan; Karen Stewart (Jim), Cedar City, Utah; 23 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Ross Palmer; sisters, Vida Hutchings, Myrl Burton and Birdie Crane.

Funeral services Saturday, May 4, 1996 at 11:00 a.m. in the Jordan River 2nd LDS Ward Chapel, 10400 South 1500 West. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Interment, South Jordan City Cemetery.
