DEATH: EDITH WHITE CHRISTENSEN

Edith White Christensen passed away May 21, 1996 in the Lakeview Hospital, Bountiful of complications of cancer.

Born in Salt Lake City, October 5, 1915 to Arvilla and Eugene White. She married James Ruel Christensen July 18, 1940 in the Logan LDS Temple.As a military wife with her husband, a Colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps, she lived in California, China, North Carolina, Florida and Virginia. She did community service in Laguna Hills, California as well as in the Navy Relief. Member in the Officer's Wives League. Her favorite hobby was her beautiful sewing, yet her greatest accomplishment was her courage in facing her life after losing her husband in 1966. Always dignified and loving and always having time for others. Her service to family, friends and society was her most important duty. She fulfilled those responsibilities with class, dignity and love.

Survived by three children: Kathryn (Miles) Decker, Bountiful; James R. (Jacquelyn) Christensen, Jr., Orinda, Calif.; Linda Christensen, Layton; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert and Elwood; sisters, Ruth Schleckman, Dorothy Finlinson, Eloise Wise, June Root, Mary Ashby, Beverly Besendorfer.

Funeral services will be 12 noon on Saturday, May 25, 1996 at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 South Highland Drive, where friends may call 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
