Tickets for the next stopover of "Les Miserables" in Salt Lake City will go on sale today (Saturday) from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the Capitol Theatre's ArtTix box office and all eight Albertsons ArtTix outlets.

According to Bruce Granath of the Space Agency Concerts & Theatricals and the Theater League of Utah, "every effort has been made to make the process as simple and as fair as possible."Local interest in the upcoming "Les Miz" engagement is expected to be high. Several performers chosen during auditions last fall should be members of this company, including Kurk Davidson, who is understudying the role of Jean Valjean.

Here are the ground rules for purchasing tickets:

One-hundred randomly drawn numbers will be distributed at 6 a.m. on Saturday to determine the first 100 places in line at each of the nine outlets. Numbers will then be issued on a first come, first served basis.

There will be a limit of eight tickets per customer.

To use credit cards (VISA, Mastercard, Discover or American Express), patrons must use the Capitol Theatre box office or utilize the ArtTix direct telephone line - 355-2787. Albertsons outlets WILL NOT accept any credit card purchases. Cash or checks (with valid Utah driver's license) will be accepted at the box office and all outlets.

There will be a handling fee of 50 cents per ticket at the Capitol Theatre box office window and $2.50 per telephone order. There will be a fee of $2 per ticket applied to all ArtTix Albertsons outlet orders.

All customers will be asked to select three preferred dates. They will be assigned the best seats available.

ArtTix staff members and telephone operators sell from one combined source of tickets (in other words, different blocs of tickets are not assigned to individual outlets). Telephone customers, however, will not receive seat locations at the time of their calls.

Albertsons stores with ArtTix outlets are:

- Parleys Way, 2040 S. 2300 East.

- Fort Union, 6989 S. 1300 East.

At the Capitol Theatre box office, 50 W. 200 South, normal hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays.

However, due to Memorial Day, special hours this weekend only at all outlets and the Capitol Theatre will be 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
