- CALL FOR ENTRIES

The Utah Arts Council announces a call for entries for the Statewide Annual Exhibition titled, "Utah 96: Painting and Sculpture." The exhibition is open to all visual artists residing in Utah. To receive an entry form and more information, contact Lila Abersold at 533-4195.

The Art Access Gallery is accepting exhibit proposals from individual artists and organizations for 1997. Proposed exhibits may include work by emerging and established artists, artists with and without disabilities, exhibits speaking to social issues, children's exhibits, and exhibits focusing on, and/or presented by underserved groups, organizations and individuals.

The Utah Arts Council requests proposals from artists for the 1 percent for art program. A sculpture in Richfield (proposal deadline June 7) and one in Salt Lake City (proposal deadline May 31). Artists with appropriate backgrounds should request guidelines. For more information, contact David Holz at 533-4039.

Art Access/Very Special Arts Utah, with support from the Utah State Office of Education Special Education Services Unit, announces the availability of its "Third Annual Educator Incentive Grants." The grant rewards educators who use their summer months for developing new and innovative ways of adapting and implementing the State Office of Education Art Core Curriculum to meet the needs of students with disabilities. Up to nine awards will be given based upon proposals. The proposals are due by June 1. For forms and more information, call Art Access/VSA at 328-0703.
