Helen Elizabeth Doran passed away peacefully Friday, May 24, 1996 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She was born July 11, 1924 in Thorald, Ontario, Canada to Earl and Pearl Harrison. She married Robert Doran on March 31, 1944, her husband of 51 years, in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple. Throughout her life, Helen devoted her time to her husband, family, church and friends. She served in many church callings, but considered her greatest service to be in supporting her husband. Helen was known as a gracious hostess and devoted friend, especially to her golfing companions.Beloved and admired by family and friends, she is survived by her daughter, Joanne Jackson (Harvey); son, Daniel R. Doran (Dawnette); daughter-in-law, Kathy Doran; eight grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, brother, Gordon Harrison (Fleda); sister, Joan MacDonald (James) and their families. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, her parents, and sister, Norma.
The family extends a special thank you to the ALS Department at the University of Utah, home health caregivers, many friends and neighbors for their love and support.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 29 at 11 a.m. at the Tooele 12th ward. Friends may call Tuesday evening at Tate Mortuary in Tooele from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Tooele City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Helen would appreciate donations made to the Missionary Fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
