Uniglobe Concord Travel is sponsoring a benefit Hawaiian luau Wednesday, May 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Orem Senior Friendship Center, 100 N. 400 East.
Proceeds will go to a fund to help defray the cost of a bone marrow transplant for Jill Pehrson, Spanish Fork, a 30-year-old wife and mother of two.For tickets call Uniglobe at 377-3441. The minimum donation to the luau is $10 per person, or $12 at the door. Several door prizes will be given.
The Deseret Foundation, a charitable organization that helps transplant patients, has set up an account in Pehrson's name. Donations will help pay for the bone marrow procedure scheduled for June 17 at LDS Hospital. The estimated cost is $70,000. Donations can be made to the Deseret Foundation or to her transplant fund at any branch of Zions Bank.
