Do you have weeds in your yard? How about old cars or debris?
Beware, because the City Council has drafted a new ordinance aimed at drastically speeding up enforcement of the city's clean-lot laws.City manager Dennis Cluff said it can take months after a complaint to get the legal authority necessary to force the landowner to clean up an unsightly yard.
However, the new plan - now under inspection by the city attorney - will only allow a 10-day grace period for compliance. Otherwise, it will be a fine and a court appearance.
