Utah's windy, rainy weather over the Memorial Day weekend seemed somehow in tune with the solemnness of the occasion, in which thousands quietly visited cemeteries to remember those who have gone before. At one Salt Lake cemetery, the prevalent decoration was potted chrysanthemums. A woman from Tooele picked up cut flowers that had blown over on the grave of a baby not related to her. She set the can upright and taped and wired it in place.
