WSU ENGLISH PROFESSOR GETS LEADERSHIP AWARD

Weber State University English professor Neila C. Seshachari has been awarded the 1996 Asian-American Community Leadership Award by Gov. Michael Leavitt.

The award was presented May 9 as part of Asian-American Awareness Week.Seshachari has been teaching at WSU since 1973.

Seshachari is president of the Utah Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters, the first woman to be named to the position since the academy's beginning in 1908. She also serves as the chairwoman of the Literary Arts Committee of the Utah Arts Council.
