A loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend, died on Memorial Day, May 27, 1996 of complications from sudden and unexpected heart failure.
Cleve was born February 7, 1957, the oldest child of William and Elaine Wagstaff Parker in Salt Lake City, Utah. He attended Valley Jr. High School and graduated from Cottonwood High School in 1975. Earned his Eagle Scout as a youth and served from 1976-78 on an LDS mission to Calgary Alberta Canada, where he worked with the Lamanites. Married Susan Lynn Jones February 24, 1979 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a successful businessman and traveled throughout Utah and the country. He was well known for his ability to make friends and had many. He loved his family and spent as much time as possible with them at Lake Powell and other activities.Member of the Valley Park 5th Ward, where he served in the Stake Young Men program, Stake Sunday School, first counselor in the bishopric and currently serving as the Young Men's president. He loved the young men he worked with and had helped plan their summer activity-a hike down the Grand Canyon in June. He wouldn't have missed going for anything- he'll be there!
Much of Cleve's life was focused on his youngest daughter, Brittany Joy. She suffered from cancer and he was committed to her throughout her treatment and recovery. He was her shadow and best pal. He loved the mountains and on the morning of his death he walked there with his children and family.
Survived by wife, Susan; children, Rebecca, Katie, Marcie, Jeffery, Ashley, and Brittany, all of Taylorsville; parents, William and Elaine Parker, Taylorsville; Susan's parents, Don and Charlene Jones, Denver, Colo.; Susan's grandparents, Don C. and Lucy Jones, Las Vegas, Nev.; Curtis and Wanda Willett, Fullerton, Calif.; brothers, Brett Alvin (Katrina) Parker, Sandy; Curtis Leon (Cami) Parker, Taylorsville; and sister, Ruth (Marc) Johnson, West Bountiful.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, 12 noon, at the Valley Park 5th Ward, 2603 West 4700 South. Friends may call Wednesday, 5-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and Thursday, at the church, 11-11:45 a.m.
Interment, Taylorsville Cemetery.
