Keanu Reeves is doing well after breaking his ankle in a motorcycle accident.
Reeves, 31, underwent surgery Monday to remove a bone fragment, and he was expected to be released from the hospital as early as Wednesday, said Gwyn Dilday, spokeswoman for Queen of Angels Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center.Police said that as Reeves was driving his motorcycle on Sunset Boulevard on Sunday night he swerved to avoid a vehicle that pulled out from the curb. He missed that vehicle and slammed into another, police spokesman Vince Aguirre said.
"The accident was not his fault," Reeves' publicist Tracy Mosh said.
She added that Reeves was "recovering well and will be recuperating at home for the next several weeks."
Reeves starred in "Speed" and recently filmed "Chain Reaction," which is due out in August.
