STAGE PRODUCTIONS SEEK PERFORMERS

Auditions have been scheduled for the following stage productions:

- BORN YESTERDAY on Friday, June 21, for the Pioneer Theatre Company production. Audition times for Equity actors will be 1 to 1:30 and 3:30 to 4 p.m. Open auditions are 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.There are roles for men and women, 18 years of age and over. There will be cold readings from the script.

All auditioners must sign up for a time slot on the call board posted outside of Room 201 of the Pioneer Memorial Theatre building. The auditions will be held in Room 217. Please bring a current photograph and resume.

The Garson Kanin comedy will be guest-directed by John Going. Rehearsals will begin Nov. 11 and performances will be Dec. 4-21 on the Lees Main Stage.

- HAPPY VALLEY, described as "a new and original musical satire by sundry and miscellaneous artistic types," will be held on Friday, June 14, from 6 to 9 p.m., and Saturday, June 15, from 9 a.m. until noon at the Provo Theatre Company, 105 E. 100 North.

There are 16 roles available for actors, singers and dancers from 16 to 50 years of age.

Charles L. Frost, PTCI's artistic director, said auditioners should come prepared with two one-minute songs from any Broadway show (one upbeat and one ballad). Please bring a current resume and photograph.

Rehearsals are scheduled during July and August, with 29 performances between Sept. 5 and Oct. 14.

"Happy Valley" will be a spoof on "life forms in Utah County." According to Frost, it will be part of Utah County's centennial celebration. For further information call PTCI at 379-0600 or contact Frost at 226-7307.

- ALICE IN WONDERLAND on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 11-12, from 6 to 9 p.m. both nights at City Rep's Family Theatre, 638 S. State St.

Directed by Nigel James, all roles are open in this stage adaptation of Lewis Carroll's classic fantasy. Approximately 25 per-form-ers may be cast, including the roles of Alice, the White Rabbit, Caterpillar, Cheshire Cat, King and Queen of Hearts, Mad Hatter, March Hare, the duchess and other chracters from the novel.

Come prepared with a memorized 30-second monologue including movement and large facial expressions.

Auditioners should enter the theater through the purple stage door at the northwest corner of the building.

There are 19 regularly scheduled evening performances from July 20 to Sept. 14, with five Saturday matinees. There will also be several daytime performances for school field trips on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings and some Thursdays.
