DEATH: RITA ANN HOLDAWAY WILLIAMS

Rita Ann Holdaway Williams, 62, Orem, died peacefully in her home, surrounded by loved ones May 26, 1996.

She was born May 11, 1934 in Provo, Utah, to Ida M. Wagstaff and the late Randall B. Holdaway. She married A.G. Williams, August 30, 1956. They lived in the Bay area, Hawaii, Concord and Visalia, Calif. After divorcing in 1971, she moved to Orem with her five children.She was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many of the auxiliary organizations, most recently as Relief Society teacher. She died firm in the faith of the Gospel.

She was employed by Alpine School District, as financial secretary for Orem Jr. High for 23 years, as well as working part time at ZCMI for over 20 years.

Survivors include her five children, their spouces and 24 grandchildren: Lisa and Jerome Grasser and nine children of Germany; James and Rachel Eddington Williams and five children of Orem; Mark and Elizabeth James Williams and one child of Alabama; Shauna and Robert Poast and nine children of Orem; and Michael Williams of Orem. She is also survived by her mother, Ida Holdaway of Orem; brothers, Dennis Holdaway of Nevada; and Blaine Holdaway of Mammoth, Utah; a sister, Anabel and Royce Masterson of Spanish Fork; and sister-in-law, Linda Holdaway Ballard of Pleasant Grove. A brother, Klin, preceded her in death.

She wished to thank family and friends who blessed her life with their love, care and thoughtfulness.

Funeral services were held Friday, May 31, 1996 at 10 a.m. in the Geneva Heights 2nd Ward Chapel, 590 North 900 West, Orem. Friends called Thursday evening from at 7 to 9 p.m. at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 600 East 800 North, Orem, and Friday at the ward chapel from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the East Lawn Memorial Hills Cemetery, 4800 North 650 East, Provo.
