THIS TICKET'S FOR YOU, BUD, TRUCKER TOLD

Traffic was clogged for nearly seven hours Thursday after a semitrailer truck overturned and spilled hundreds of cases of beer near the I-80/I-15 interchange in West Salt Lake.

Fred McMillian, 24, was driving east in a Budweiser delivery truck on I-80 when the vehicle overturned and slammed into concrete barriers on the southbound I-15 lanes just before 10 a.m., said Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Doug Devenish.McMillian and a passenger, James Reynolds, 32, were treated for injuries at LDS Hospital.

UHP closed the interchange shortly after the accident and didn't reopen it until about 5 p.m. because the trailer had to be unloaded before it could be tipped upright and removed, Devenish said.

McMillan was cited for speeding.
