Soon-to-be-divorced Halle Berry is licking her emotional wounds with the help of her two devoted Maltese dogs, Petey and Bumper.
"Why can't all men be like dogs?" she told People magazine, which interviewed her as the two tiny white pooches snoozed with her on the couch. "They are the only men in my life, because they have unconditional love."As Berry sat alone in the $1.6 million California home she bought with baseball star David Justice, she wondered what went wrong with their storybook romance.
"Every day wasn't bliss, but I didn't see that our problems were so great we'd be divorcing," Berry said.
Justice, an Atlanta Braves outfielder, sees it differently.
"She wasn't the same person I was with before we got married," Justice said. "She'd get mad when I watched ESPN. And every time she saw a picture of me with a woman, any woman who might have been standing by my side, she thought I was cheating. I've never known a girl who could throw a tantrum like she does."
