David W. Platt, 78, beloved son, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away May 3, 1996 at home. We commend our mother, Maurine for her tender care during his lingering illness. "Momma, we love you".

David was the oldest son of Paul and Edith Platt, born March 13, 1918 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Married Maurine Pace, June 19, 1943, their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.He was a graduate of Cyprus High School. Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved to read and teach. He enjoyed photography, music, camping and fishing. He will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Maurine, and six children: David (Teresa), Walter, William John (Vaneitta), Stephen (Carol), Madelyn (Karl) Biesinger, and Melynda (Charles) Dancker, 29 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Also survived by two brothers, Paul and Daniel and two sisters, Marjorie and Connie. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Franklin.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 7, 12 noon, Butler 11th Ward, 1845 East 7200 South. A viewing will be held Monday evening 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, and at the ward on Tuesday 10:45-11:45 a.m. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
