Some of the notable performances in Utah high school sports.

MondayDALLAS BICE, Morgan: Hit three home runs as the Trojans swept a doubleheader with Millard.

BLAKE LEONELLI, West Jordan: Smacked a bases-loaded single in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Jaguars upset Bingham.


JASON ANDERSON, Skyline: Had four RBI, four hits and scored three times as the Eagles flew past the Darts.

CARI DALLOF, Murray: Baffled Granite by pitching a one-hitter.

KATIE ETHINGTON, Viewmont: Hit a three-run homer with two outs in the bottom of the 7th inning as the Vikings nipped Highland 5-3. On Friday, Ethington went 4-for-4 in a win over Davis.

RYAN FLOX, Hillcrest: Drove in five runs by homering twice in a loss to Alta.

JASON GARVER, North Summit: Hit for the cycle in leading the Braves past rival South Summit.

MIKE GOFF, Alta: Homered, doubled and knocked in four runs as the Hawks halted Hillcrest.

MOLLY HYER, Brighton: Overpowered Mountain View with a grand slam. Teammate Kim Burton recorded a shutout with 11 strikeouts.

JANELLE JENSEN, Uintah: Tossed a one-hitter as the Utes prevailed in Park City.

WRESTLING FOURSOME: Mark Blain (Pleasant Grove), Casey Davies (Murray), Aaron Pelch (Alta) and Cael Sanderson (Wasatch) each pinned opponents from Poland's national championship team in an exhibition match.


ZANE DAVIS, Hillcrest: Soccer goalie stopped 14 shots as the Huskies surprised Alta. He added another shutout Friday against American Fork.

KARA DeGERING, South Summit: Catcher threw out four North Summit baserunners as the Wildcats prevailed.

RILEY NICHOLS, Brighton: Stole three bases and went 4-for-4 in a win over Jordan.

JEFF STONE, Taylorsville: Whiffed West Jordan with a complete game and 13 strikeouts.

RUBY WOOLSTENHULME, South Summit: Team RBI leader had five (going 4-for-4 at the plate) in a win over North Summit. Added seven more RBI in a doubleheader sweep of Gunnison Saturday.


JULIE ALBRECHT, Copper Hills: Homered while getting hits in all four plate appearance as the Grizzlies outlasted Granger.

CHRIS LURAS, Skyline: Tripled, doubled and drove in three runs in the Eagles' flight past Cottonwood.

HEIDI OLSEN, Bingham: Cleared the bases with a long blast in a win over Taylorsville.

SUNNY SMITH, Pleasant Grove: Helped her teammates double Payson by doubling four times.


DREW BOTT, Morgan: Won three races - the 100, 200 and 400 - at the BYU Invitational track meet.

TYLER GLADWELL, Bonneville: Grand slammed Northridge as the Lakers picked up a win.

RUSS GUYMON, Mtn. Crest: Bounced Ben Lomond with four RBI and three hits.

BRANDON LYON, Taylorsville: Cornered Kearns with 11 strikeouts and a two-hit shutout. He homered and drove in two runs in a win over Hunter Monday.

BEN MALNOR, Union: Homered twice as the Cougars defeated Park City to clinch the Region 10 title.

ROXY McBRIDE, Union: Threw a no-hitter against Park City. Teammate Holly Stevens homered, tripled and doubled in the contest.

THE PRATTS, Weber: Aaron drove in five runs and Chris added a grand slam in a successful outing at Fremont.

JEREMY ROBERTSON, Murray: Racked up 13 strikeouts in a loss at Tooele. Charlie Lawless picked up the shutout win for the Buffaloes with 10 K's and just one walk.

TIFFANY SHERROD, Clearfield: A real four-ce against Layton. Helped the Falcons to a four-run victory with four hits and - you guessed it - four RBI.

BRIAN STALKER, West: Drove in four runs as the Panthers won a catfight with Woods Cross.

JOANN STEVENS, Millard: Set a new 2A state record in the 200-meters with a time of 25.87 at the BYU Invitational. Also captured top finishes in the 100 and 400.


DAN ARRHENIUS, Mtn. View: Took top honors in the discus and shot put at the BYU meet.

KAYLA BRADFORD, San Juan: Racked up four RBI as the Broncos bounced Beaver.

AMANDA BUSENBARK, Bear River: Dashed to victories in the 100 and 200 at the BYU Invitational.

BRIAN ELY, West: Set BYU meet record in the 400 with a clocking of 48.59.

NICOLE FOUST, South Summit: Pitched a pair of complete games as the Wildcats swept a doubleheader with Gunnison.

HOLLY GIBBONS, Bear River: Won the heptathlon at the BYU Invitational.

JEFF HOPKINSON, Bingham: Established a new BYU meet record in the 800 with a time of 1:53.93. Also placed first in the 1600.

ELIZABETH JACKSON, East: Helped the Leopards capture the BYU Invitational team title by winning the 1600. She also was part of the first-place 1600 medley relay squad.

CURTIS PUGSLEY, Bear River: Won the decathlon at the BYU Invitational.

AARON SALAHUDDIN, Tooele: Broke the BYU Invitational record in the 100 by clocking a 10.62.

AUSTIN STOWE, East: Hit for the cycle as the Leopards jolted Judge.

JED STRINGHAM, Provo: Overpowered Payson with a homer and four RBI.

CURTIS WHITESIDES, Layton: Soccer standout recorded a hat trick as the Lancers defeated Clearfield.
