Adored husband, father, grandfather and brother, Melvin William Graham, 72, passed away Sunday, May 5, 1996, in Salt Lake City, Utah after a long, valiant battle with ALS.

Born September 25, 1923, in Castle Gate, Utah, the son of Archie and Sybil Cox Graham. Married Patricia Wrigley, November 9, 1946.Mel was a proud Army Air Corps Veteran of World War II, receiving the Bronze Star. Retired from the National Weather Service where he was Assistant Chief of Personnel. Served as Quartermaster VFW Post 409. Member Sugar House No. 3586 VFW. Mel loved working with his hands, whether building furniture or tinkering with his computers. Mel will always be remembered for his strength, wisdom and kind, loving heart, complimented by his ever-present sense of humor and winning smile.

Survived by his wife, Patricia; children, Trecia (Randall) Hatfield, Brad Graham, Kristine (Barry) Usry; brothers, Robert and Vern; sisters, Bonnie and Margie; grandchildren, Scott VanSleeuwen, Nichole and Philip Usry.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 9, 1996, at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, Olympus Section, 3401 Highland Drive. Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary and Thursday from 12:45 to 1:45 prior to services.
