Viewmont wrapped up its second straight Region 2 title with a second half comeback against Cottonwood in a 4-1 win. Davey Lund scored twice for the Vikings as they won the league outright with an 8-1 mark.
Cottonwood's C.J. Westman scored first for the Colts before Lund hit a penalty kick just before the half for a 1-1 tie. Sweeper Mike Graves then took Cottonwood (2-7) by surprise with a booming direct kick inside the midfield line. B.J. McNichol then scored along with another shot from Lund to solidify the win.In other action Tuesday:
Fremont 3, Northridge 0: Riley Dabling, Drew Kawaguchi and Aaron Wilhelmsen posted goals for the Wolves to knock over the Knights. Fremont is now in a three-way tie for third.
Clearfield 4, Roy 1: Clearfield clinched the region title outright by burying the Royals. Roy is now 6-5 and Clearfield 8-4.
Weber 2, Bonneville 1 : Despite an early goal from Josh Morgan of Bonneville, Weber fought back to grab its fourth win in region. Bonneville fell to 6-5.
Highland 3, Bountiful 2 : Marcos Estrada helped revive the Rams with both regulation goals. Chuck Miller and Jared Parkinson scored for Bountiful, before falling 3-1 in the shootout.
Skyline 3, Davis 1: Jeff Bengtzen and Austin Banks each scored for the Eagles to help break a 1-1 tie. Brad Reavy of Skyline and J.J. Shaw of Davis also scored. Skyline is 3-6, while Davis fell to 5-4.
Granger 1, Bingham 0: Five minutes into the first half, Michael Jordan scored the game's only goal on an indirect kick for 7-4 Granger. Bingham dropped to 8-3 with the loss.
Hunter 1, Taylorsville 0 : The third-ranked Warriors were spiked by Jeff Hawks' penalty kick goal for Hunter. The Wolverines are now 5-6 in region with Johnny Jex playing the goalie shutout in regulation.
West Jordan 2, Kearns 0: Jared Henderson scored both goals and Jason Kaywood posted the goalie shutout to drop the rising Cougars. Kearns is now 7-4 in the region playoff race.
Ben Lomond 3, Box Elder 1: Cory Lauder fired twice and Ryan Robinson once to lift the Scots to 3-8 in region over the Bees. Box Elder is 2-9 with the loss.
Mountain Crest 4, Logan 2: Mountain Crest's Danny Spillman turned in four goals for the rising Mustangs as they dropped the Grizzlies. Mountain Crest moved into second with an 8-3 mark.
Ogden 2, Bear River 1: Tyler Loveland and Shaun Wilcoxen for Ogden (8-2) both hit goals in the second half to mount a comeback win over third-ranked Bear River. Bear River fell to 7-3.
Judge 2, Murray 1: Chris Kennedy sparked the Bulldogs with both goals, including a game-winner with three minutes left. The win clinched the final region playoff spot for Judge.
Park City 5, South Summit 0: Joe Pack notched a hat trick on the Wildcats as the Miners got the shutout win. Tom Gross also scored twice for Park City.
