CREWS FIND BIKER'S BODY IN SWOLLEN AM.F. RIVER

A Sandy man died Wednesday after crashing his motorcycle and falling into the swollen American Fork River.

Killed was:Mark Frkovich, 29, Sandy.

Utah County Search and Rescue crews pulled his body from the river about 10 a.m. Wednesday. Paramedics had spotted his body about 3:30 a.m. on some rocks about three miles up American Fork Canyon, but when rescue workers arrived, the body had washed away.

Decker said Frkovich and his roommate were driving bullet motorcycles west on U-92 near Timpanogos Cave about 3 a.m. when Frkovich lost control on a curve, slid off the north side of the road and went over a 20-foot embankment and into the river. His roommate drove about four miles to a convenience store and called police.

Investigators believe he died when he hit his head on some rocks and likely died before falling into the river. He was not wearing a helmet.
