Vinal Edward Phillips, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, age 87, passed away peacefully in his sleep June 9, 1996, at his home.
Born September 22, 1908, in Millcreek, Utah, to Edward R. and Jenny Malloy Phillips. Married and later divorced. Married Elva Bolin Douglas June 8, 1946, in Farmington, Utah.He retired from Packaging Corporation of America.
He loved the outdoors, fishing, golfing, camping and gardening. Vinal and Elva just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Survivors: daughters, Linda Beale (Roy), Arlene Saunders (Gordon), Lorraine Stafford (Bill), Yvonne Hansen (Dean); son, Richard Odle; 21 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Miller, Jean Sundberg.
Preceded in death by parents, daughter Diane, one grandson, one sister and three brothers.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 12, 1 p.m. at Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 East 4580 South. Friends may call Wednesday from 11:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State, Murray.
