Betty Lee Meredith, 73, of Bountiful, passed away peacefully on June 10, 1996, after a spirited and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born March 10, 1923 in Marysville, Kansas to Matthew J. and Gertrude M. Dusch Eckerie. She married Hyrum Benjamin Meredith on November 17, 1943. He died August 6, 1995.She was employed at the Davis County Clipper, from which she retired after 40 years. She was affectionately referred to by her co-workers at the Clipper as "Mom". She was a member of St. Olaf's Catholic Church in Bountiful. She loved to dance and was a member of the Salt Lake F.O.E. #67 where she gathered with her special friends and spent many enjoyable evenings.
He warmth and affection will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by one daughter, Sherelynne (Stephen) Rockwell, Gainesville, Florida; four sons: Michael (Julie) Meredith, West Bountiful; Kevin (Kathy) Meredith, Fruit Heights; James (Terrea) Meredith, Kearns; Dennis Meredith, Bountiful; 16 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
A funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m., St. Olaf's Catholic Church, 1800 So. Orchard Dr., Bountiful. Vigil service will be held Wed., 7 p.m., at Neil O'Donnell and Sons Mortuary, 372 East 100 So., where friends may call from 6 to 7 p.m. Committal: Bountiful City Cemetery.
