A Hill Air Force Base man who purchased a motorcycle Tuesday was critically injured in an accident while driving it later that day, police said.

Mohammed A. Kabir, 23, was taken to McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden by air ambulance after the 10 p.m. accident at 300 N. Main, Clearfield police reported. The driver of the car, Rebecca M. Felix, 16, Clearfield, and a passenger, D.J. Ashby, were treated for minor injuries at Davis Hospital and later released.

Police said Felix was in the intersection of 300 North and Main streets, waiting to make a left turn. The traffic light at the intersection turned yellow while she waited, according to a Clearfield officer who witnessed the accident, and then turned red as she waited for a vehicle to clear the intersection so she could complete her turn.

The southbound motorcyclist appeared to try and stop, police said, but then speeded up and crashed into Felix's car broadside. No citation has been issued and police said the accident is still being investigated.
