Gladys Rosena Horrocks passed away from natural causes June 12, 1996 at the age of 89.

She was born in Centerville, Utah, August 9, 1906 to Rosena Lucas Cheney and William Evans Cheney. She grew up and went to school in Centerville, and then attended LDS High School, and the University of Utah. She married Rulon Horrocks on July 9, 1929, and had a son Robert three years later. They moved to Salt Lake City in 1938 and built a home at 1434 Sunnyside Avenue in 1941, where they resided until she had a stroke in October 1995. They then moved to St. George, Utah.Gladys and Rulon were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on their 50th wedding anniversary, and were active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was a member of the Salt Lake City Lions Club of which she served a term as President. She worked with the blind people at the Murray B. Allen Center, with many activities, and also helping to provide Christmas for those who could not provide for themselves.

She was a devoted Wife, Mother, and Grandmother, who lived the Gospel, and is survived by her husband Rulon, her son Robert, five grandchildren, Bruce, Russell, Mark, Lesley, and Larry, and nine great grandchildren, Ried, Jenna, Rachael, Ashley, Ryan, Nicole, Jessica, Russell, and Danya. She will be missed by all.

Funeral services will be held on Monday June 17, 1996 at 1 p.m. in the in the LDS Yale Ward Chapel on Gilmore Drive in Salt Lake City. A viewing will be held Wednesday morning from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Yale Ward Room #20. Burial will be in the Centerville Cemetery.
