Donald James Lemmon, 67, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, passed away June 15, 1996, at St. Marks Hospital.
He was born January 22, 1929, to Elden Leon Lemmon and Luella Shepherd in Silver City, Utah. Married Betty R. McCarrell Kellogg October 15, 1967, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Member of the LDS Church.He served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Pasadena-China service. He worked for Lucky Lager Brewing as a maintenance supervisor until their time of closing. He then moved his family to Redwood City, Calif. and was owner/operator of a Kentucky Fried Chicken store. He moved back to Salt Lake and did various truck driving jobs. Retired from Petro Source in 1989 due to illness.
He loved the outdoors and passed his love for the Tintic area to his family. He liked sitting around telling stories about his early days with his brothers and sisters. He enjoyed people from all walks of life and will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Survived by wife, Betty; son, Kris L. (Bridget) Lemmon, Riverton, Utah; daughters, Lauree Pomikala, Riverton; Annie (Dave) Hansen, Riverton; Dale Rae Potter, Sandy, Utah; Dawna Jean Hoggard, Salt Lake City; mother, Luella Lemmon Perry; sisters, Lois (Terry) Goulding, Salt Lake City; LaVerne (Willy) Pounds, Missouri; brothers, Kenneth (Dorothy), West Jordan, Utah; Gene (Faye), Stansfield, Ore.; Victor (Pauline), Dubois, Wyo.; David and Reed, Salt Lake City; 10 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by father, Elden Leon Lemmon; stepfather, Frank Perry Jr.; brother, Robert; sister, Shirley Cooley.
Funeral services Tuesday, June 18, 1996, 11 a.m. at Lake Hills Mortuary, 10055 So. State, Sandy, where family and friends may visit one hour prior to service. Interment, Lake Hills Memorial Park.
