Fishing can be costly . . .. especially if you are one of a group of out-of-staters recently arrested for having over their limits of fish at Panguitch Lake.

Fines ranged from $70 to $190 each. They were levied according to the number of fish each had over the six-fish limit, according to a clerk in the Panguitch Justice Court. The group was caught with 140 trout in possession, none of them knowing they were being observed for about four hours by Conservation Officer Mike Fowlks of the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. He reported the total over limits amounted to 74 fish.

The group didn't even get to eat their catch. Fish and game animals are confiscated by Wildlife Resources when illegally taken.
